A Journey of Grace and Hospitality

When I first sat down to create this blog, I knew I wanted a name that reflected the biblical call to hospitality and the connections forged through faith. "Kindred & Company" beautifully captures this essence. It reminds us that we are all part of God’s family, called to love and serve one another in community. It reflects not only the relationships we build through shared meals and warm welcomes but also the deeper bonds of kinship that develop when we open our hearts and homes to one another.

The Heart Behind Kindred & Company

The term “kindred” evokes the profound sense of belonging we find in Christ. We are reminded in Scripture that we are all part of one body, and this kinship transcends our earthly ties. No matter our backgrounds or life experiences, we are united as children of God, each with a unique purpose in the tapestry of His creation.

“Company” emphasizes the importance of gathering together in fellowship. In the spirit of Acts 2:46, where believers broke bread in each other’s homes with glad and sincere hearts, “company” signifies the joy of sharing life’s journey together. Whether it’s in celebration or in times of need, the act of coming together creates a sacred space for God’s grace to flow.

A Personal Journey of Hospitality

The inspiration for "Kindred & Company" emerged from my own encounter with divine hospitality during one of the most challenging seasons of my life. It was a time filled with uncertainty, where I felt isolated and burdened. Yet, in the midst of my struggles, I experienced God’s incredible grace through the loving actions of others.

Friends and family, motivated by their faith, opened their homes and hearts to me. Each shared meal, every comforting word, was a reflection of God’s love in action. They reminded me of the beauty of vulnerability and the strength found in community. It was a powerful testament to the call in Hebrews 13:2 to show hospitality to strangers, for in doing so, we may unknowingly welcome angels.

Through their kindness, I recognized that hospitality goes beyond mere food or gatherings; it is an embodiment of Christ’s love and grace. This experience ignited a desire within me to extend that same hospitality to others, reflecting the grace I had received.
