2024: A Year of Transformation and Grace

As we say goodbye to 2024, it's clear that this year has been a whirlwind of change and growth. From technological breakthroughs to global shifts, we've seen remarkable progress and faced tough challenges. On a personal level, it was also a year of growth and unexpected turns. In this wrap-up, I reflect on the moments that defined 2024 and look ahead to what’s next.

As I look back on 2024, I see a year filled with challenges, growth, and unexpected blessings. Leaving a toxic job due to burnout was a pivotal moment in a physical, emotional and spiritual level. After much prayer, God opened the door to a new role I love—a role where I feel valued and purposeful, and I can exercise servant leadership as a way to be a compassionate, approachable and hopefully— a wise and emotionally intelligent leader.

Although the ongoing heath issues have slowed me down a little, they’ve also strengthened my trust in God’s timing. The toxic job I mentioned earlier really helped put things into perspective, particularly the importance of prayer and surrendering my struggles to God.

In October, losing almost everything in a house fire turned my world upside down, but it also brought clarity in many areas. I saw true, biblical hospitality in action—people showing up with love, generosity, and kindness in ways that reminded me of Jesus’ example. This inspired me to start Kindred & Company, this blog dedicated to sharing hospitality rooted in faith. Through this platform, I’ve connected with incredible people and shared stories of crisis hospitality, simple acts of love, and making room for others. I’m excited for how Kindred & Company will continue to grow in 2025 as a welcoming space to highlight the importance of hospitality like Jesus taught us, and we you all feel comfortable sharing your own stories.

This year has been a refining fire—painful, but purposeful. I leave you with a short prayer as we walk into the new year with faith, hope, and a heart ready to serve.

Dear God, as we step into this new year, we ask for Your guidance, strength, and wisdom. Bless us with good health, joy, and peace. Help us grow in love, kindness, and patience, and lead us toward greater understanding and compassion. May this year be filled with hope, grace, and new opportunities to serve others and honor You. Amen.
